Adding Scheduled Reminders
A useful feature of the Cloud DX Clinical Portal is that clinicians can add a scheduled reminder for a client to take a reading, attend an external virtual call, or take additional actions. The patient will be able to access their upcoming reminders via the Scheduled Reminders tab within Connected Health. In addition, patients may receive a push notification 5-15 minutes prior to the event to serve as a reminder. This article will show you how to schedule an event on behalf of a patient.
Log in to your Clinical Portal and Access the Patient's Profile
After logging into your Clinical Portal, the first step to scheduling a reminder is to open the applicable patients profile. To do so, visit the Patients Tab and locate the applicable patient.
3. Select the event types that you are scheduling using the Type Drop Down
Tip: If multiple events are scheduled for the same days/times, you can multi-select all applicable events to be scheduled.
Within the event Type dropdown you will find preset events and customizable events.
Preset Events Includes:
- Reading Reminders, such as Blood Pressure, Oximetry, Weight, ect..
- Medication Reminders
Customizable Events Include:
- Video, enabling you to add a video link for an external virtual meeting.
- Custom Event, including a free text field enabling you to set a custom reminder based on need.
The scheduled event or action will be displayed on the calendar.
3.1. Scheduling External Video Calls as an Event
Using scheduled reminders, you can share external Zoom or Alaya Care Virtual Visit meeting links, enabling the patient access the virtual meeting within the Connected Health App.
To schedule an External Video Call:
- Select Video from the event Type dropdown.
- Enter the Zoom or Alaya Care Virtual Visit URL Link.
Video Calls scheduled within Scheduled Reminders will enable the patient to access the virtual meeting directly from their Calendar Reminders tab of the Connected Health Application. The meeting will open via Zoom or Alaya Care within the Connected Health Application.
3.2. Establish the Event Schedule
Once the event type(s) have been selected the next step is to confirm the scheduled cadence:
- Start Time: The date and time of the initial reminder.
-
Recurrence
- Once: The reminder will be sent once on the date/time selected.
-
Weekly: The reminder will be sent on a recurring schedule.
- Repeat Every: Determine the repeat schedule, ie. every week, every two weeks, every three weeks, ect.
- Repeat on: Select the days of the week that the reminder should be issued.
- End: Determine when the recurring event should end.
-
Once the schedule is confirmed, click Save.
4. Editing/deleting an event
To edit/delete an event, click on the event you wish to change.
Select whether you want to 'edit current occurrence' or 'edit the 'series'. Note: In this example we will be editing the series.
Edit the event type and time(s) of readings. Click 'Save'. Alternatively, you can click on 'Delete' to remove the scheduled reading.
The edited event or action will be displayed on the calendar and the changes will be reflected within the Patients Scheduled Reminders.
